Tolstoy is considered by many as the best writer of all time. War & Peace. Anna Karinina. Well, if you’ve read these, you can understand why. His works inspired 20th century world leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. He wrote, in War & Peace: “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” And also: “There is no greatness where simplicity, goodness, and truth are absent.”
Our story this week, is not quite as lofty or philosophical as these great works. But nonetheless, is rich and full in characters and story. I hope you enjoy “A Russian Christmas Party” by Leo Tolstoy.
